Nurse Unit Manager - Coronary/Critical Care

Hobart Private Hospital is seeking a post grad qualified Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead our Coronary Care / High Dependency ward to help shape not only what high quality patient care looks like on our wards, but also what a rewarding nursing career looks like for our more junior nurses. Your new ward is a 25 bed Critical Care Unit (CCU) for acute cardiac, medical and high dependency surgical care. With the largest private cardiology service in Tasmania, we manage cardiac emergencies and provide ongoing care in our dedicated coronary care area.

Your Role: 

This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital.

 

You will provide operational direction for the ward to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. In addition you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels. 

About You:

  • Specialised nursing experience in cardiology/critical care
  • Post Graduate Certificate or working towards in cardiology/critical care
  • Previous NUM experience or equivalent
  • Current Registration with AHPRA and Working with Vulnerable People check
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope - Tasmania – Nurses -Enterprise Agreement 2025, a salary of $72.59 per hour.
