We’re now looking for a Health Information Services Officer to join our supportive Health Information Services team and play a vital role in our hospital operations.

The Opportunity

As a Health Information Services Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the Health Information Services department, ensuring medical records are managed efficiently and in line with privacy and compliance standards.
- Full-time role (part-time job share may be considered for the right candidates)
- Monday to Friday, with flexibility required (must have availability for shifts ranging between 6.30am to 5.30pm)
- Report directly to the Health Information Services Team Leader
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and maintain complete medical records for discharged patients
- Retrieve and file medical records using terminal digit filing systems
- Manage off-site storage preparation and record culling
- Collect records from wards and handle incoming correspondence
- Respond to telephone enquiries professionally
- Release health information to internal and external stakeholders in line with Healthscope policies
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Desirable:
- Experience in a healthcare administration environment
- Familiarity with WebPAS or similar patient administration systems
- Understanding of patient privacy, confidentiality and medical terminology
