As an Wardsperson you will report to the Support Services Manager and your duties will include:
- Patient Assistance and transfers
- Use of manual handling equipment e.g. Steady Sarah, Steady Eddy, slide sheets, bed movers
- General Domestic Service’s duties e.g. cleaning beds, organising linen, restocking of equipment, and waste management
- Flexibility to work cleaning shifts if required
- Attend to all duress alarms that are activated
- Attend all medical Emergencies and participate as required
- Attend to security checks on shift
- Attend EWIS board for all Fire alarms
- Retrieve equipment as needed on wards
- Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
- Cultivating a hospitable and friendly environment for all patients
- Work as an active team member to support all work tasks
As well as any other duties asked of you by either the Support Services Manager or Nursing Unit Managers on the ward.
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Authority to Work in Australia
- Working with Children check
- Self-motivated, uses initiative
- Ability to communicate well with others
- Maintain flexibility in work plan, hours and roster
- Ability to prioritise and plan
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in a hospital environment
