About the role
Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking a full time Ward Clerk to work across a diverse role that supports Perioperative Services and plays a vital part in the day-to-day function of our theatres.
Key responsibilities include:
- Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression
- Answer phone calls and handle inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality, directing them to the appropriate personnel as needed
- Provide administrative support to the Nurse Unit Manager, including scheduling, correspondence, and coordination of meetings
- Assist VMOs (Visiting Medical Officers) with administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations and patient care
- Accurately record and maintain patient data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies
- Assist with Theatre bookings when required
Essential criteria:
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
· Experience in a hospital administration environment preferred
· Ability to prioritise and organise work, with minimal supervision
· Excellent customer service, organisational and communication skills High level attention to detail
· Flexibility, reliability and ability to work under pressure
· Excellent time management skills with an ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team
- Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
- A basic understanding of Medical Terminology
