Registered Nurse - General Surgical

About the role

Gold Coast Private Hospital is currently looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team of professionals in providing excellent patient care on a part time basis (64 hours per fortnight) working various shifts across a 7-day roster. This position is in the surgical ward covering cases mixes across general surgery, urology, colorectal, gynaecological.

As a Registered Nurse – Surgical your responsibilities will include:

• Deliver evidence-based nursing care
• Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
• Ensure patient and staff safety
• Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient care
• Proactively assess the operative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual / patient
• Document into the patient's medical record objectively, clearly, concisely and timely using accepted abbreviations and terminology

Essential Criteria:

·       Authority to Work in Australia

·       Bachelor of Science (Nursing)

·       1-2 years surgical experience (desirable)

·       Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA

·       Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

·       Sound clinical decision making and problem-solving skills

·       Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·       Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused

·       Experience in the care of one or more post-surgical specialties – neurosurgery, orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal, gynaecology, plastics.
