Healthscope is seeking an experienced Head of Technology - Modern Workplace to lead a team to deliver a highly functional, seamless and secure workplace technology experience for staff, clinicians, contractors and other end users across our national network of private hospitals. Reporting to the CTO/GM Technology Services, you will own architecture, engineering and operations, setting the strategy and roadmap, governing in-house and partner service delivery, and lead a multi-disciplinary team introducing new technology whilst also modernising the current service footprint.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the Modern Workplace strategy and roadmap, balancing patient-care realities with modern productivity and security outcomes.
  • Lead the EUC and Voice Communications product and service lifecycle from ideation to delivery, operation and continuous improvement.
  • Govern delivery across internal teams, vendors and key stakeholders to ensure services are designed optimally and run efficiently.
  • Review key metrics and drive measurable improvements in user experience, productivity and adoption across productivity, collaboration and mobility services.
  • Partner with Architects, Security, Applications and IT leaders to enable reliable access to clinical and corporate applications when and where needed.
  • Manage security, risk, standards and controls across the portfolio; ensure issues are identified, documented and pro-actively mitigated.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship and capability uplift across a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team including field services and remote workers.
  • Maintain strong commercial and financial focus: optimise device and licence spend, vendor performance, and total cost of ownership.

Role Dimensions:

  • Technology Scope: End User Compute solutions (desktop, laptop, mobiles, printers, AV systems), Productivity tools (M365/Teams/CoPilot, Confluence/Jira), Device & Asset management platforms (InTune), Telephony/PABX & messaging, Mobility, secure access & identity (EntraID/AD)
  • People: Lead ~35 FTE (permanent, offshore and contractors) across product and technical disciplines.
  • Commercial accountability: Forecast and optimise annual support/maintenance, user licences and manage capital project spend in technology uplift projects across devices, software and services.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualified, proven leadership experience in a style that is customer-centric, collaborative and technology-neutral, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge across the modern workplace ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Teams collaboration and enterprise device environments.
  • Commercially astute, experienced setting and managing capex & opex budgets, operating within multi-supplier ecosystems; confident influencing stakeholders and designing pragmatic solutions.
