Melbourne Private Hospital is seeking an Administration Officer to join our team on a casual basis in areas of Reception, Admissions, Bookings, Preadmissions and Ward Clerking. You will play a key role working within our team to ensure patients have a positive experience during their care.

Shift times will vary, flexibility is preferred.

About us

Melbourne Private Hospital is a fully accredited tertiary facility located within the Parkville Precinct. With 122 beds, we provide services across a broad range of specialties including cardiac, neurosurgery and general surgery. Melbourne Private Hospital also has a day procedure and chemotherapy ward.

As an administration officer your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

·         Perform a broad range of administration duties including:

·         Answer and redirect phone calls to appropriate departments

·         Prepare admission paperwork

·         Conduct insurance eligibility checks for patients

·         Maintain accurate and effective record management systems

·         Manage the collection of patient excesses/co payments

·         Coordinate with staff from other departments

·         Complete clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, file management to ensure accuracy of patient documentation


Essential Criteria:

·         Authority to Work in Australia

·         1-year medical administration or reception experience (desired but not essential)

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills     

·         Experience with Medical Software i.e WebPAS (desired but not essential)

·         Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
